Simon Cowell blasts Charlotte Church

Simon Cowell has launched a blistering attack on singer and TV star Charlotte Church for putting her music career on hold. In a radio interview, the Pop Idol judge said Charlotte could have been a massive operatic star but has "thrown it all away." Did we miss something? Charlotte, who is still just 20, has taken a year's break from music following the Top 5 success of her album Tissues and Issues and Channel 4 has commissioned 2 more series of her Charlotte Church Show. According to Cowell, "12 is the new 20" for pop stars and he wants to lower the age for entrants to his show. He really should watch out - Charlotte may be young but she gives as good as she gets and we're sure she'll tell Simon exactly what she thinks of him!
