Madonna kicks off European tour
Madonna kicked off the European leg of her world tour last night at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff.
Over 59,000 fans turned up to see the show, which was the singer's first ever performance in Wales.
In true Madonna fashion the concert had an edge of controversy as the singer entered the stage riding a saddle and a crucifix.
"It's our first show in Europe. I'm sick of people sitting down in concerts. It's really boring," she said.
"Oh my goodness there is so many people. This is very exciting for me."
Concert goers were also encouraged to consider global issues, with vast images of African Aids orphans and quotations from the Bible.
"Right now we are living in a world where there's too much hate and too much fighting," she told the audience.
The show ended with a giant video screen asking "Have you confessed?"
But if concert goers think they can detect a whiff of vodka while at the show it is mostly likely to be Madge herself. It was revealed last week that the drink is used to remove sweat stains from her concert outfits.
