Dannii Minogue drops pop for radio

Dannii Minogue has announced that she is ditching pop to pursue a career on the radio. The singer claims she is eager to get into broadcasting and is already being trained up as a club DJ by dance impresario Roger Sanchez. "I just love music but I need to step away from it for a while," she explained. "I've also got the offer of some work on radio so I want to clear my head and explore new opportunities. Maybe I'll go back to writing and singing one day in the future." Dannii announced at the beginning of the month that she is also excited about her new acting role in Except East Richmond. Minogue is set to play female lead Shaunagh in the thriller, which is due to be shot in Melbourne in December and January.
