Kirsten Dunst Doesn't Care About French Boos
Kirsten Dunst says she is unconcerned about critics' opinions of her latest film with Sophia Coppola, despite the fact that their past collaboration in The Virgin Suicides was a success. Marie Antoinette (the photo), a biopic about the French queen, premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and was met with loud boos at the end of the first screening. Dunst says that what the critics say does not bother her. "I didn't take it to heart," she told Entertainment Weekly of the negative reviews in France. "How would we feel about the French doing a movie about George Washington with French actors?" she reasoned. While the success of the film is yet to be determined, Dunst says it was a unique and cherished acting experience for her. "Sometimes I felt really isolated because it was such a lonely part to play," she revealed. "I didn't really interact with that many people. I couldn't really rely on other people to get it out of me," she said.
