Melanie Griffith Sued Over Red Carpet Dress
Melanie Griffith is being sued by a designer for "forgetting" to acknowledge his creation in a red carpet interview.
Griffith, who wore Niklas J Palm's dress to the 2006 Golden Globes, took credit for the frock herself, later claiming she couldn't remember the fashion mogul's name.
She is also accused of refusing to pay nearly GBP14,920 for the stunning outfit, in a suit alleging breach of an oral and a written contract as well as intentional misrepresentation.
Palm claims the Working Girl star promised, "that he will receive publicity that money could not buy, then conveniently forgot his name when reporters on the red carpet specifically asked (her) who designed her beautiful gown - taking credit for the gown herself."
Despite submitting a GBP14,889 bill on 16 Januarythe designer claims his wage has yet to be paid.
Palm and Griffith met in 2005 when he clothed her for a promotional film for an exercise video. He was later hired to reorganise her wardrobe, and provide outfits for her TV appearances and various foreign trips.
