Julia Roberts Driving Without a License Plate

Julia Roberts shocked her Santa Monica neighbors, after being caught driving her car with an expired license plate. The star was stopped on Thursday while driving her Toyota Prius, the registration for the vehicle was found to have expired in April, 2005. A local resident scoffs, "It's ridiculous! While I understand it's quite normal to be a few days late, three months is just crazy. If an everyday person with a 9-5 can remember to get it done within a timely fashion, a movie star with a staff to help remind her certainly should be able to." According to California law, a person conducting a vehicle with expired registration must pay a 60% surcharge on the renewal of the license plate.
