A man accused of stalking Sandra Bullock was ordered to keep his distance from the actress until 2009.
Thomas James Weldon was under a Los Angeles court order that took effect in 2003, demanding that he remain at least 200 feet or 61 metres away from Bullock.
The actress claims Weldon followed her across several states and barraged her with faxes and emails.
Sandra Bullock said in court documents, "I do not know defendant, I have never met him and I have never communicated with him nor voluntarily accepted any communication from him."
Bullock and Weldon did not appear in court for Wednesday's hearing.
Weldon has been incarcerated at the Middle Tennessee Mental Health Institute for the past three years and is set to be released in September.
The star's attorney, Edwin F McPherson, said after the decision, "I think she can feel a little bit safer now."
