Danielle Lloyd is headed for another High Court showdown with the organisers of the Miss Great Britain contest. Lloyd, sacked from her role as winner of the contest over allegations of cheating, is demanding libel damages of $200,000 from Miss Great Britain Ltd. She is suing after the organisers published a front page from the Mirror newspaper on its website, according to a High Court writ. The front page was headed, “Miss Cheat Britain. Miss GB is sacked for fibbing about fling with Judge Teddy”.
Lloyd also seeks an injunction banning the contest organisers from repeating the allegations about her. Miss Great Britain Ltd published the front page on its
website between 2006 and July 2007, the court will hear. Danielle says the story meant that she had cheated her way to winning the Miss Great Britain competition, a claim she denies.
This is the second court battle in which she is involved. Miss Great Britain Ltd sued Danielle for $200,000 after accusing her of bringing the contest into disrepute, and she is fighting that legal action.
