Paris Hilton has appealed the 45-day jail sentence handed to her after being found guilty of violating a probation order and driving with a suspended license. Her lawyers filed a one-page notice of appeal after her Los Angeles Superior Court hearing on Friday. The notice is the first stage towards an appeal and does not automatically guarantee one will take place. Hilton is currently due to spend 45 days in a California correctional facility. Hilton also has rehired publicist Elliot Mintz, days after she fired him for misinformation that led to her jail sentence. Mintz accepts he was partially responsible for the strict sentence through misinformation, and left her employment last weekend. However, Hilton has had second thoughts following a candid chat over dinner with Mintz last night. He says, "I represent Paris and I'm proud to. We had a wonderful evening, we talked, and our media relationship resumes uninterrupted."
Hilton will begin her sentence on June 5.
