Kate Beckinsale Writes a Novel

Kate Beckinsale wants to write a novel because she thinks her film work is silly. The star, who studied French and Russian literature at Oxford University, doesn't feel her film career exercises her brain enough. Kate told the Sunday Express magazine, "I'll probably write a novel but not under my own name. I wouldn't want to be a celebrity author. That sounds highly vulgar to me. I wouldn't want anyone buying it because I've been in a couple of silly movies. But I want to keep my brain ticking over." The actress thinks that Hollywood is too shallow. She joked, "There is a point where if you have one more person saying, Wow I love your belt, you start to go, I'm going to have to start selling Living Marxism on the corner again."
