Beyonce advises against maple syrup diet
Beyonce Knowles has warned people off of her controversial maple syrup diet. The singer came in for a barrage of criticism from health experts after she revealed that she had managed to lose a stone in weight after just ten days on the regime. Rather than eating meals, she instead drank maple syrup mixed with water, lemon juice and cayenne pepper in order to shift some pounds to play in her latest film, Dreamgirls. But health experts have warned that the drink is lacking in protein and nutrients, and could see followers end up in hospital. "Back in the 60s, models like Twiggy were popular and I knew my character would have been thin then," she told BBC Breakfast. Apparently only people who have to lose weight for the noble pursuit of looking slimmer in films should attempt the diet, as Beyonce added: "I would never recommend it to anyone unless you are doing a movie and it's necessary, and you have proper help. There are ways to lose weight healthily if you want to lose weight, but this was for a film."
